It’s pretty normal for Nokia to launch an upgraded version of a phone with a slightly modified moniker, popular examples from the N series being the N93 -93i, the N85-86 etc. Once again it seems the guys at Nokia are prepping their immensely popular 5800 XpressMusic for a surgery. As we hear, their component suppliers from Taiwan say that Nokia’s been asking to replace the touchscreen of the 5800 which is presently resistive, with a capacitive one similar to that of the Samsung Omnia HD. This would definitely make the screen more ‘useable’ with regards to touch. The switch has its set of issues but since it means a better experience for us, so we’re not really concerned with the technicals here
We can also expect Nokia to use capacitive touchscreens in other and upcoming models as well.
