It has been a long time since new Nokia mobile handsets are announced. And still don’t expect too much since low budget mobile phones are announced today on the Nokian side. However this time there are seven of them. The long list includes 7100 Supernova, 5130 XpressMusic, 2323 classic, 2330 classic, 2320 classic, 1661 and the cheapest Nokia phone ever the Nokia 1202. These handsets are surely for emerging mobile markets which rely on prices rather than fancy functions.

First handset on the list is the Nokia 7100 Supernova. It is one of the most stylish handsets on the list with its low price. Some of its features are 65K QVGA display, FM radio, bletooth connectivity and 1.3 megapixel camera. It is also special in a way that you can record your favorite songs from the radio. Also it is possible to use Ovi services for file sharing and e-mailing right away.

There will be two different bands available for the Nokia 7100 Supernova. Thus it will be a dual-band handset with GSM/GPRS/EDGE versions (850/1900 MHz and 900/1800 Mhz).There will be three color options that you can choose from which includes Fresh blue, Black and Jelly Red. The release date for the Nokia 7100 is expected to be Q4 2008 so it should be quite soon in this month or so. Its price tag is around 75 euro (only 95$).

 

 

Second handset on the list is from XpressMusic line which is more music oriented series. It has music dedicated keys as usual, FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack. Other than these 2 inches QVGA display with 256K colors, Bluetooth, USB, microSD card slot and 2 megapixel camera will be on the list. Also retail package will include 1GB memory card to store your favorite music and other files.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic has its release date set at Q1 of 2009 so don’t expect to see it before January 2009. But it is almost the cheapest music oriented handset on the mobile handset with a nice look with its Red and Blue color options and its price is expected to be 90 euros which is 113USD.

Three classic handset were also on the list of Nokia mobile handsets. The Nokia 2330 classic, 2323 classic and 2320 classic has unexpected design which we are not used to from other classic phones but they share same modest feature list. Three mobile handsets have 128×160 pixels resolution of 65K color display on the front side. However still they have a special FM radio recording feature available. Also on the top line the Nokia 2330 will have a VGA camera and Bluetooth.

The release dates for these classic modest mobile handsets are Q2 2009. With their features including no more than communication by SMS and telephone, they are the most affordable handsets in the list. The Nokia 2330 classic with a few extra features will have a price tag of 50 euros, 63 USD and 2320 classic and 2323 classic will be sold for only 40 euro which is only 50 USD.

As we go ahead on the list you will also notice that the prices will get lower than ever. The Nokia 1661 will be the lowest priced color screened Nokia. As Nokia states the mobile phone is specially for the citizens of rural areas. On the feature list accordingly there is a flashlight, FM radio and multiple phonebooks. It has 65K color display with 128×160 pixels of resolution.

The Nokia 1661 is also a dual-band mobile handsets so 850/1900 MHz and 900/1800 Mhz will be available and expect to see either one of them to be called Nokia 1662. The market release date for both versions will be not before January 2009, and their price will be just 30 euro which is only 38 USD.

The Nokia 1202 closes the long list as the cheapest of all. It is told to have extended battery usage, flashlight and seperate phonebooks for up to five people that uses the same mobile phone. There will also be dual band versions. But this time expect to see this phone on the market before the end of 2008. There will be two color options which are Midnight black and Violet blue and Nokia 1203 will also have silver gray. The price tag is at 25 euro which is only and only 31 USD.
