The day has come when Nokia N96′s chrone will be left aside because you must get ready for the newest N series, the Nokia N97. As it is one of the handsets with huge feature list, it is also the first touchscreen mobile phone with Symbian S60 operating system. With its huge 3.5” touchscreen, it is also a slidable and tiltable handset, so you can benefit a whole QWERTY keyboard as well.
When it comes to feature list, this superstar of N series has lots to talk about. On the top of the list there is quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA for usage worldwide, Wi-Fi, GPS, 32GB of internal memory which will be expandable up to 48GB with microSD cards, 5 megapixel camera, touch-enabled Nokia Maps, accelerometer for screen rotation automatically and distance sensor for turning your screen off automatically during calls.
When it comes to its huge display, it has 16M color touchscreen TFT display. Its resolution is 360x 640 pixels. And finally and as a classic stereo Bluetooth, FM radio with RDS and 3.5mm audio jack and TV-out are on the package.
The size also matters when there is lots of features. People expect these kind of handsets to be small in size so that it is a real handset rather than a hand computer. The Nokia N97 weighs 150g and quite heavy in this manner but still its dimensions are not even bigger than Apple Iphone 3G.
The Nokia N97 release date is expected to be second quarter of 2009 and its price tag should be around 550 euro before taxes and subsidies.
