Two new members of the NSeries family of Nokia are today announced officially as a Nokia press release. The Nokia N79 and Nokia N85 are coming with a large list of features but with different designs.

First of all Nokia N85 has a design that we were familiar in Nokia N81 with its quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS dual slider. There is also famous HSDPA support to increase network data transfer speed. However the most exciting feature is its 2.6″ 16M color display. It is Amoled with QVGA resolution. There are also gaming keys for better N-gage gaming experience and built-in accelerometer enables the handset to rotate automatically.

Other members of the feature list include 3.5mm standard audio jack, GPS and microUSB slot. Connectivity features include Symbian OS with S60 interface and preinstalled Feature Pack 2, Bluetooth and WLAN. It also has 5 megapixel snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash and autofocus assist light at the back of the handset. Furthermore you can record up to 30fps. There is also a second camera on the front for video calls.

Memory of the phone is 74MB without microSD assistance and can be extended to 8GB which will be also available in retail package. Feature list is wrapped up with FM radio and FM transmitter.

Color options of Nokia N85 are Copper color. Its price will be 450 euros and its release date is expected to be in October 2008.

Nokia N79 is handset with a different bar shaped design and has a compact body although it has modest features compared to N85. As Nokia N85 it supports all the GSM bands but 3G will work only on 900 and 2100MHz bands. Display is 2.4″ QVGA resolution with 16M colors. Wi-Fi, 5 megapixel camera and GPS are among the important members of the feature list.

Some of the other features of N79 include Symbian OS with S60 V3.2 interface, FM radio and transmitter which will allow you to broadcast your favorite songs on short range. There is also Navi wheel navigation which we are familiar from N81. Bluetooth and microUSB are familiar members of the connectivity features. There is also 3.5 mm standart audio jack. There is 50MB internal memory of N79 which is also expandable with microSD and 4GB card will be on the retail package.

Other than the improved video recording options, customizable exterior design is upgrade of N79 over N78. There will be two additional Xpress-on covers available on retail package and you will be able to buy new ones if you prefer and change your handset’s look.

Color options for the Nokia N79 are Canvas White and Seal Gray. Its release date will be in October together with N85 and its retail price is expected to be 350 euro before taxes.
