Today an environment friendly handset is announced on the Samsung side. The Samsung Blue Earth will be charged using solar energy. As an ecologically friendly mobile phone its design looks like a pebble which is slightly rounded and on the handset there is solar panel for providing energy to make your phone calls. Also there is a DC charger option so that when there is no sun around, you can also charge your phones in energetically efficient traditional way.

It is not only how you can charge the phone that is eco-friendly but also the handset will be served in recyled paper package. Also the material that it’s made from is the plastic from recycled water bottles. Also Samsung guarantees that there is no harmful material used while manufacturing the Blue Earth.

Also there is a special “eco mode” on the handset so that you can cut the usage of your power to minimum. In this mode your screen and Bluetooth is set to run in low energy mode. By the way it will be the first solar-powered touchscreen handset among the other phones made from recycled materials.

Another pleasant function of the Samsung Blue Earth is its special accelerometer which is used for counting your steps. In this device there is a calculation made for how much carbon dioxide would be emitted by your car if you took it and it gives you this value by the unit of saved trees.

The price and release date information will be in MWC, so keep watching for a busy mobile congress week ahead.
