Samsung finally anounced a 5 megapixel Symbian Smartphone which is i7110. The Samsung i7110 has enhanced capabilities in the multimedia section but we are not very sure about it beacuse it is in the rumor stage. On the other hand, the Samsung S3600 with similar looks of the Samsung G400 of the Soul clamshell series is announced as a lower midrange mobile phone equipped with entry-level features and without external display.

This is not the first time, we gather information about the Samsung i7110. Back in August there were also some speculations about the handset features, but now looking at the newer photo, we can see that there is a better design. Also more details about the feature list is revealed.

Some of the important players in the feature list includes; the latest Symbian S60 User Interface with FP2, quad-band GSM, optical joystick navigation, a 2.6-inch 16M color display, accelerometer for auto screen rotation, Wi-Fi with DLNA, DivX and XviD video support, GPS receiver with A-GPS, FM radio and FM transmitter, a 5 megapixel video camera with dual LED flash, VGA@30fps video recording, slow motion and high-speed QVGA recording and finally 3G feature with HSDPA.

The official announcement date for the Samsung i7110 seems to be in October 2008 which is this month, and its price and release date information should also be reported with official announcement.

Also in the midrange side, the Samsung announced today the Samsung S3600. As mentioned before it has similar looks with the clamshell Soul-design with metallic body and no external display. However it has a large 2.2″ display with 65K color TFT, but the resolution is at 176×220 pixels.

Other features of the Samsung S3600 include, quad-band GSM/EDGE support, 30MB of available memory can be expanded up to 2GB with microSD cards, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, and FM radio with RDS and broadcast recording.

As for the release date, there is no certainty about the availability of the handset. However it seems this mobile phone, the Samsung S3600, will be available worldwide with reasonable price quote of 80 euros without taxes.
