Finally today Samsung brought Samsung i900 to our eyes after a long time of gossips around. Its popular name is Samsung i900 Omnia, so expect to hear this name a lot from now. It seems that it will be a competitor of the expected 3G iPhone. Also in terms of features, it is even close to HTC Touch Diamond which was announced few days ago.

First official exhibition of the Samsung i900 Omnia will be at the CommunicAsia expo which will be held in Singapore from June 17 to 20, but already all of the features of this phone is announced.

First of all, the Samung i900 has Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro as an operating system. In terms of display it features 3.2″ WideQVGA display which is 240×400 pixels and an optical mouse which was known earlier in Samsung i780. Its camera is one of the best mobile cameras in town which is 5 megapixel with auto focus and face/smile detection and even auto-panaroma shot. Another feature of the camera is geotagging which is enabled by built-in GPS receiver of Omnia.

If we mention about how handsome it looks we should certainly tell about its 12.5mm wide waistline and its brushed metal back. Thus in terms of dimensions, we recall Apple iPhone. However most eye catching identity is that the Samsung i900 Omnia shares the same internal memory with iPhone. As in iPhone 8GB and 16GB versions will be available for purchase and this memory is expandable up to additional 16GB with microSD.

In terms of communication enhancement Samsung i900 Omnia has quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps. We also have Wi-Fi support which is very critical feature nowadays.

Finally there are some multimedia features like USB port, FM radioa with RDS and stereo Bluetooth with A2DP which makes this mobile a superstar.

In order to have a fair competition with iPhone, the Samsung i900 Omnia has also touch-optimization which is done by TouchWiz user interface to be utilized on Windows Mobile OS. Touch User Interface was featured on Samsung F480 for the first time and it was very successful.

As for the market release, the Samsung i900 Omnia will be on mobile markets starting from June 2008, but for European users, you expect to get it in July so it will be almost released same time with 3G iPhone for which release date is also expected around that  time. However we still don’t have exact price information.
