Another rumour that surfaced and spread very far very fast yesterday, was put down by Samsung today. It was being said that the oh-so-fantastic Samsung Omnia HD that makes us drool everytime we look at it was to lose the ‘Omnia’ tag and go back to the rather boring i8910 model name.
In some countries there seems to be an issue with the phone’s original name, so the guys at Samsung have granted permission to the people in charge of marketing in those countries (whose names haven’t been disclosed) to sell the phone under the tag of Samsung i8910 HD.
With the much awaited launch of the phone just a few days away, this might be a major issue, but Samsung denied any such possibility and confirmed that that the Omnia will stay just that. The info-tainment and business series will both be sold under the same name regardless of whether the OS is Symbian or Windows Mobile.
“What’s in a name”, said Shakespeare. We say, “A lot!”
