Samsung B210

Samsung B210 is the last nonofficial handset that was showcased at IFA 2008. It is a lower-end candybar shaped mobile handset. It seems to be a low budget phone with dual band GSM and 65K display with resolution of 128×160 pixels. It also has a FM radio, but doesn’t have a built-in camera. Same thing is also true for the Samsung B210 as far as the price and release date information is considered.

Next set of handsets are already announced before but IFA 2008 is the place where they are made official to public. In this group we have the dual SIM Samsung D980, S7330, M150 and the B130.

Samsung D980

The Samsung D980 looks like the Samsung F480 Tocco with its similar shape, full touchscreen display and TouchWiz, but the main difference and the best appealing feature of the phone is its dual SIM functionality which is not a common feature among Samsung or Nokia. Other features of the Samsung D980 include:

-5 megapixel camera
-2.6-inch QVGA display
-supports microSD cards with up to 2GB

It has a smaller display and 5mm thicker body when compared to F480, release date is third quarter of 2008 but price is not available. As for the dual-SIM functionality, unlike the older Samsung D880 version it will support tri-band for both of the SIM cards not for just one of them.

Samsung S7330

The Samsung S7330 is like a lower budget U900 because it looks a lot like it. It’s got a 2.2-inch 16M color TFT display and uses a touchpad for directional navigation throughout the interface. The S7330 slider has UMTS support with HSDPA and a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus. Other features include stereo Bluetooth, FM radio, microSD memory card slot. Still no more information is added about the price and release date of the Samsung S7330.

Samsung M150

Another already announced device is the Samsung M150 which is a 12.7mm bar-shaped handset with 256K color 1.77″ display. Its resolution is 128 x 160 pixels. Since it is a low end handset it doesn’t even have a memory card slot but it has Bluetooth and VGA camera features. Release date and price information for the Samsung M150 is not available.

Samsung B130

The Samsung B130 is another low end mobile handset by Samsung and it looks like B100 which is already on market. It has similar design but only 10g lighter. It has a small internal memory of 400KB and a smaller battery of 750mAh. There will be no Bluetooth or FM radio for data transfers, instead there will be different color options available like white, red and grey.

And now finally, we move to the group of handset that not only have been showcased at the IFA 2008, but they are also already available on the market.

Samsung E215

First off it’s the Samsung E215, which is already available in some regions – it’s a low-end clamshell that uses the attractive design of the Samsung E215. It’s got quad-band GSM support and has a VGA camera.

The main display of the E215 is a 65K TFT one with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The external display is a lot smaller with a resolution of 64 x 64 pixels. The E215 also has a microSD memory card slot and a FM radio.

Samsung B510

The Samsung B510 is an unassuming slider that comes in several colors. Otherwise it’s pretty much low end as most of the presented cellphones. It’s got a 1.77-inch CSTN display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels.

The Samsung B510 doesn’t have a camera or a memory card slot and there are 4MB of internal memory. Still, Bluetooth and FM radio are available.

Samsung B300

The Samsung B300 is a low-end clamshell without an external display. It’s already available in several colors and it has a 1.52-inch 65K color CSTN display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. The B300 has only has 2MB of internal memory but a microSD memory card slot would allow to expand it. The FM radio and the MP3 music player complete the feature list.

Well, that’s about all teh handset presented by Samsung at the IFA 2008 expo in Berlin. We enjoyed this article as some of the handset are new to us too and we hope to see more of them in the close future.
