Previously rumored Samsung i8510 Primera turned out to be the Samsung i8510 INNOV8 and it is officially announced today with its top ranked camera facilities and multimedia features which is combined with Symbian S60 functions. Also its release date for Europe is as soon as in a few weeks.

Not long ago, in our website we tried to list the huge list of features for this phone, with a name with unusual spelling of the word INNOVATE, but now here is the official explanation of the features.

Candidate to be the most popular feature of the INNOV8 seems to be its 8 megapixel camera with bunch of advanced features like smile and blink recognition, face recognition, geotagging and auto panaroma mode. It doesn’t have a xenon flash which seems to be the only bad side, instead it has dual power LED flash. Also camera can record video in VGA resolution at 30fps and also has slow motion option which is also QVGA and captured at 120fps.

As for the operation system, the Samsung i8510 INNOV8 works with Symbian OS 9.3 with S60 3rd edition Feature Pack 2. It is a smartphone which features quad-band GSM and HSDPA 7.2Mbps (900/2100 MHz) support. It has a big display of 2.8″ and 16M color QVGA resolution. It also possess 128MB RAM and 3D graphics accelerator. However there is no information about the CPU of the smartphone.

As for the memory like Iphone 3G that is recently released, there will be 8GB and 16GB versions available, also same thing applies to Samsung Omnia which was also recently announced. Also you will be able to expand the memory with microSD card slot.

GPS receiver with A-GPS support and Wi-Fi with DLNA certification are also available. DLNA is basically a wireless media sharing protocol that runs on top of Wi-Fi. Sony Ericsson C905 and Nokia N96 also possess this feature lately.

For you music needs, INNOV8 has stereo speakers which has a 3D surround sound effect and DNSe 2.0 that is DSP technology of Samsung. However as previosly rumored, there is no solid information about 5.1 surround support. Also 3.5mm audio jack will be available as a standart feature lately. Also there is a DivX player for video playback, and USB 2.0 for data transfer. Finally FM radio with RDS and stereo Bluetooth completes the list of features.

The Samsung i8510 INNOV8 features a 1200 mAh battery and its dimensions are 106.5 x 53.9 x 16.9mm so it is not a pocket phone. As for the release date as mentioned before it will be available in Europe first starting next month August 2008 and its price tag will be around 780 euro but it is not the certain price.
