After its leak few days ago, Samsung today sent an official announcement e-mail regarding the Ultra Touch S8300. So with addition to its 8MP snapper, it will also shine with its thin ultra lined design.

To refresh our memories about what was in the package, we will wrap up the specs list in a second. We should say most of the predictions that were in the leak became true. First of all the handset comes with 3G feature, so HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE/GPRS are all included. Secondly there is a large wide AMOLED display which is a touchscreen one. Moreover there is a sophisticated 8MP of camera with LED flash, face and smile detection and geo-tagging features. You can also record VGA video at 30fps with this camera and playback is supported in all DviX, XviD, H.263, H.264, WMV9 and MPEG4 video formats. Finally for more multimedia, there is Audio Player for your favorite MP3 and other music format files, Bluetooth, FM radio, and 80MB of internal memory which is expandable up to 16GB with microSD cards. All of these is packed in as little package as 110×51.5×12.7mm.

The only drawback seems to be the operating system. There is TouchWiz user interface so there won’t be any Android or WiMo on board, but still full touchscreen with a sliding 3×4 keypad offers a wonderful user experience as in other Ultra lines.

However we are still expecting release dates and places soon. Also the price information is unknown, but most probably we will be able to see it on sale starting MWC in Barcelona next week.
